History of yesterday, history of today!

On this day in 1867, the U.S. formally takes possession of Alaska after purchasing the territory from Russia for $7.2 million, or less than two cents an acre. The Alaska purchase comprised 586,412 square miles, about twice the size of Texas, and was championed by William Henry Seward, the enthusiastically expansionist secretary of state under President Andrew Johnson. ~History.com

Greetings all! It has been a long time since I last wrote anything on my blog! A whole year! But things have been very crazy! I am now a graduate of the WWU History Department, and now I am taking summer classes for a Masters in Teaching. I also got to have a wedding ceremony, after a year and a half of being married... :p This ceremony was the same day as WWU graduation! It was super crazy, but it was a fun day.

Now I'm back, and will do my best to start posting again. :D See ya!
